Adaptation is the body’s way of getting used to training demands. New programs and unfamiliar movements are hard at first, and the body reacts, but the difficulty settles as the body adapts. The same workload that felt difficult at the start becomes easier with repetition. The other side of adaptation is that skills and strength decline when training stops.
Flexibility develops day by day, strength month by month, and endurance year by year. Because flexibility comes quickly, train it every day, even on days you train on your own. It is a good routine.
Morning training is genuinely hard at first, but after four or five weeks of getting used to it, it becomes much easier. If you train twice a day, learn skills in the morning and do the main work in the evening, since the body is strongest in the late afternoon.

Challenging training stresses the body, and the repair that follows is what makes you stronger. Putting the body under stress prepares it for all kinds of difficulty. A program that differs from your usual training can produce a stronger reaction at first, and once you get through that phase, you can come out better than before.
Progress gradually, for example 4, 6, 8, 12, 16, 25 repetitions. Doing the work is what builds the adaptation. The body adapts specifically to what you repeat, so a person who strikes nails with the bare hand becomes conditioned to that exact task.
Shorter rests, faster completion of a program, and feeling less tired are signs that the body has adapted. Holding a skill after heavy work, or performing well despite fatigue, shows that capacity has increased. A skill becomes normalized when you can do it without maximal effort and place it inside a combination.
Static holds are harder than dynamic work because they develop much finer muscle fibers. Staying in one position is harder than moving. Separately, three months of leg training may add 25 to 30 centimeters to jump height.
Train until the muscles are tired, then stop. The right dose is individual.

Feeling sore after training can mean the workout did its job. Short-term stress and pain from training can produce long-term gains, and feeling that stress is part of the process. Repeated practice raises your pain threshold, and raising that threshold is part of the point.

An area you have rarely used can hurt when you start working it, and the pain usually subsides as the area strengthens. In planche work the wrist is the area that hurts most, even among experienced practitioners, and it improves over time. Planche training can also make some areas hurt for several months, especially around the shoulder.

The strain you feel comes from small tears in the muscles. Small tears do not cause problems. Large tears do. Demanding practice can carry a cost, sometimes large, whether internal or in the muscles, and many places may hurt and swell, but the body adapts and the work becomes enjoyable.

Slight exertion is normal in some movements, and some load falls below the knee. Back strain during a movement can be normal. Neck-area strain from opening forward can settle over time. The point where the leg joins the body may hurt the next day, and feeling it is part of the work. The neck may become somewhat thicker from training.

Pain in the working muscles can be a normal sign of strength, but pain on the sides should be reported immediately. A heavy sensation in the back or lower back can fade after a few days of practice as the area gains volume. You can be 60 to 70 percent recovered and still feel the difficulty.

A muscle-up that drops a little can come back in two or three days. After a long break, about a month of training can bring you close to your former level because the foundation is encoded in the body. Feeling that a week off cost you a year is misleading, since it comes back in a few days.
Even a high-level practitioner who trains four hours daily loses a lot after a week off and notices the small losses.
Prefer long-term training. Build abilities that last for years rather than strength that disappears when you stop.

Gains built naturally regress slowly and can remain for a long time, while regression can be fast with drug use. A week without training does not matter much, since the shoulders, lats, and wrists do not disappear easily, though the belly can fatten quickly.
Coach’s experience
In his own training, he went through frustration, swelling, and wrist pain during fly and flag work, and woke up feeling heavy. After the body adapted, the same work became enjoyable.
He used two-second pauses between hard push-up repetitions and was sore for four days afterward.
He had neck pain after a session that loaded the neck heavily and considered it normal.
His right wrist is more flexible and stronger because he does nearly everything with it. The less loaded left wrist still gives a mild sensation under weight.
His biggest weakness has always been flexibility. He opened his leg fully, but it closed back within a week, and his muscles developed faster than his flexibility.
His upper body rarely hurts no matter how long he trains, but a leg-involving acrobatic movement feels raw. With continuous practice the sensation fades.
