Cuban Rotation
These notes combine advice from 9 reviewed passages across 3 workouts.
Overview
Section titled “Overview”Cuban rotation is a weighted movement that includes internal and external rotation, an upward press, elbow extension, and a controlled lowering phase.
The movement emphasizes muscles beside larger muscle groups rather than the large groups directly. Its main technical demands are precise 90-degree rotational positions and slow execution.
Technique
Section titled “Technique”Complete both the internal and external rotations to the prescribed 90-degree positions. Maintain the relevant 90-degree angle during rotation, and lower the weights as far as possible without letting the elbows drop.
Move slowly without rushing. Include the upward press, extend the elbows through the pressing phase, and lower the weights at the same controlled speed. When a mirror is available, use it to check the 90-degree positions.
Keep the neck straight instead of pushing it forward. Keep the abdomen tight throughout the movement.
Loading
Section titled “Loading”Choose the load according to the individual’s strength, and reduce it if it is too heavy to maintain the prescribed movement. Modest weights can be normal: session examples included 2.5 and 3 kilograms, while a higher load was considered for a stronger participant.
